What if there was a place where you could think your own thought like staring at a rainbow after a summer storm. In an empty space a cloud is hovering, embedded in a spectra of colours. In his newest performance Jan Fedinger clears the stage of all traces of human performers to create an environment of experiences. An environment to focus your thoughts. Where instead of being distracted by the everyday, we can start dreaming reality. In a society, pushing for productivity, we should evaluate what wealth is, …to us. What has value? What do we consider wealth? What is the nature of wealth? And where can we find wealth in our surrounding, in nature?

land[e]scapes 4 - is part of a series of immersive art works imagined by Jan Fedinger that investigate the relation of humankind with nature and the multiplicity of realities. The works are positioned between contemporary forms of theatre / performance and visual art while drawing aesthetics from classical landscape art. The series investigates the performativity of environments while aiming to create the circumstances for a poetic experience inspired by nature. land[e]scapes follows in the tradition of landscape-art, showing natural environments disconnected from their context. Aiming to preserve existing natural phenomena for future generations. Imagining future nature for a contemporary audience to reflect on the impact  they have on their surrounding. land[e]scapes follows in the tradition of electronic arts, exploring electronic environments that are now common but used to be called future when we were young.

Jan Fedinger is a visual artists who’s principle tool of choice is light. He is known for his lighting designs for performances of Jan Martens, Aitana Cordero, Jefta van Dinther, Daniel Linehan and others, where the light becomes a bodily presence. In Jans autonomous work human performers are replaced by agents of light, sound and space, that create environments of experiences. Environments that question the real and realities alike.
we have not seen the world if we have not dreamt what we were seeing.
