Three Crows

Three Crows – The starting point for this stop motion photo animation is the Finnish folk song and children’s song ”Kolme varista” (Three Crows). The original, simple story of the song takes on a surreal and absurd form in the new verses I have written, as the crow and the reality surrounding it are described from a physics perspective. The animation footage does not attempt to illustrate the song but rather focuses on showing the external features of crows in close-up shots.  The work depicts the complexity, fascination, and fantastical nature of physical reality, which appears simple at first glance. Where does a crow fly, and how does it stay together when viewed at the molecular, atomic, or quantum level?
