For this Franco-Norwegian project conducted in collaboration with the theatre students of Nord University in Levanger, Elise Vigneron has chosen to stage the novel The Bridges by Norwegian author Tarjei Vesaas. Through this pared-down and profoundly poetic polyphonic narrative, we are drawn into the story of three adolescents who, confronted with a secret tragedy, suddenly drift from the shores of childhood to those of adulthood. Between first stirrings of emotion, the exaltation of life and the song of the earth, this performance unfolds as a choral and dreamlike form where identities multiply, bodies shape landscapes, and speech transforms into song. We are invited to experience a human existence merging with the rhythms of a telluric and powerful nature.
