Wednesday – Saturday, 12:00-18:00
Three artists from three generations collaborate in the Nettopp network: Kjetil Berge, Ella Aandal and Sigrid Høyforsslett Bjørbæk. They come from London, Kvalnes, Bodø and Oslo, and have a common interest in collective processes and craft techniques. How is time reflected in work with different materials? In Galleri 2, the group will show a collective work in progress, in which the public can participate. During a work-stay in Munch’s studio Ekely during the fall, they will complete a facade for the Artists’ House in Oslo for their exhibition “Bearing Structures”. In the façade piece they will include works from various workshops they have conducted. In Stamsund, the group will also show individual works in glass, metal, and textile, as well as works in collaboration between Vegard Johannessen and Bjørbæk.
Galleri 2 Artists Vebjørg Hagene Thoe and Scott Thoe run their gallery in an old laundry on the outskirts of Stamsund, where they also have a studio. Here they show 3-4 exhibitions of invited artists each year, the opening of the Theatre Festival being the season’s highlight. They collaborate with a number of artist institutions: Kunstkvarteret Lofoten, Lofoten Art Galleries, a network of professional galleries in Lofoten, and The cultural napsack for school children (Den kulturelle skolesekken). A number of exhibitions and workshops are offered to school children in the gallery.
