Anne Marie Hagerup – artist from Trøndelag – lived in Stamsund 30 years ago, where she experimented with ceramics and was one of the pioneers at the Lofoten Children’s Art School. She is educated at the Bergen School of Crafts and has a workshop at Atelier Ilsvika in Trondheim. Finally, Hagerup is back in Lofoten and Galleri 2 is proud to present her, both to those who know her from before and to the international festival guests.

“I have been working as a ceramicist for over 50 years and have gone through many different periods and techniques. But now I want to play with the clay, which is so plastic and malleable! There are so many possibilities for creating things with it that I never get bored. Reverie is a dream. Or what we dream about. Great achievements, big goals, reaching the top. What do I want? Who am I? What is the meaning of it all? Lust for life. The fox appears in many fairy tales. I talk of fairy tales and about dreams. And everything merges into a reverie. Her project “Reverie” is a play of words: Norwegian “rev” = fox and French revie = dream.

Mirroring Nature shows a mixture of nature and fantasy – where the artist constructs and deconstructs forms that originate from nature. School children are invited to act out their own fairy tales together with Anne Marie Hagerup.
