Siri Borge, a multi-media artist, educated at the art Academy in Bergen, comes from Stavanger on the West Coast of Norway, where she works with sculpture, performance, video, relational aesthetic, feministic and sociopolitical concepts, as well as being a writer and curator.

In her exhibition “FAEN” (a very vulgar word in Norwegian) she shows elements of life and nature in the Lofoten islands, inspired by her residence stay at Kunstkvarteret Lofoten . Her exhibited works are based on an anti-sublime experience – a combination of nature and its creatures and how human intervention and involvement changes it.

The Cod fish, Lofoten’s main source of income, is an integral part of her show, illustrated for example by the fountain made out of the head of a large cod or the moving sculpture “Cod Speed.” It moves at a speed of 40 km per hour and was last shown at the Reykjavik Art Museum, and now in Stamsund.

Siri Borge did an artist talk at Galleri 2 at the Theatre Festival in 2019, but now we proudly present her works for real in our space!  School kids are also invited to attend workshops with the artist, and she is present all week of the festival.
