The festival pub is at Skjærbrygga the whole week, and Friday the 26th and Saturday the 27th, we are back with Stamball down at Hurtigrutekaia. For two days we are organizing Norway’s coolest club in Skipsekspedisjonens old storingroom with the most beautiful view to the blue ocean and the green mountains. And the butler is our own Kristoffer Sandholm. With us to deliver the music, the dance and the atmosphere we have the DJs Carmen16, KILLA, og S Ruston from the queer collective Lecken Berlin.

Carmen 16 is a DJ who likes to dance. His club sensibility relies heavily on a 4-on-the-floor techno base, which he uses as a platform to veer off into a variety of musical directions, rarely deep, always groovy. His sets are carefully selected to maintain a cohesive quality, despite an active disregard for musical era or genre.

Lecken & Wax Treatment affiliate KILLA is a French vinyl-only DJ whose sensitive ear for the more unconventional crossovers between groovy techno, high-brow electronica and the B-side oddities of dance music is helping her flesh out a sound uniquely her own. She has earned a quick-fire reputation for the uncompromising musical integrity of her selections – frequently served with a dash of diva “je ne sais quoi”. KILLA’s sets are as diverse as the crates she digs in and the venues & festivals she plays at (Tresor, RSO, IfZ, Kampnagel,KHIDI, Oxi, Whole Festival, Fusion, CTM etc).

S Ruston—jackin’, pumpin’, voguey, UK, ravey, some fast, some slow—she knows what you need and she’ll give it to you good. Having cut her teeth on the Bristol scene over 15 years ago, she started organizing secret warehouse parties in London and playing at seminal bass music events such as DJ Pinch’s Subloaded and Dubloaded, while consistently throwing it down at major UK festivals like Glastonbury, Glade, Shambala, Ashton Court and Bloc, under the alias Ghettozoid and with female booty bass collective Octopussy. She made it SXSW representing “UK Urban” with her band Bubbz & the Black Notez in 2010, before relocating to Berlin where she has divided her time between the decks and the studio. She founded the label One4Ho, focusing on 140 Bpm driven music with female led creative input, and has released as a producer and vocalist on Fabric’s Houndstooth imprint. In 2012 S Ruston served as Zebra Katz’s DJ on his first European tour, and continues to make occasional appearances at his gigs. She’s also worked closely with artists Linards Kulless and Ursula Hutchinson on music videos and VJ/DJ collaborations.

Lecken is a Berlin-based queer-feminist, sex-enthusiast collective for nighttime intervention and gender disorientation. A core idea behind the Lecken collective has been to empower people marginalized or erased by gender-and-sexual oppression to become architects of their own desire and pleasure. It’s been our aim to hold a space that is sensitive to difference without further hardening separations of difference. We have found that this works best when all participants in the Party think of themselves as members of a temporary community, co-producers of a shared experience handled with care and responsibility. The Party is our zone for skill expansion and training in.
