Julia Laperrière (CA) and Micaela Kühn Jara(CH/D) are running a workshop with local kids from Stamsund during the festival. After the workshop they will show us parts of their work.
Lately, Julia has been working on the concept of “Heimat and Heimweh” in a cross-correspondence project with Montreal.
There is no direct English translation for Heimat, but it is this place where you feel home, or like you belong. It is a place but also an emotion in a way. Heimweh is the longing for this place. Miceala, through the project Punctures, has been working on the intersection of ecology and performing arts. In relation to landscape, and in connecting Heimat and nature, we will work with local youth, interested in getting to know what makes Stamsund their home, what they think is important to protect and what they want to share with others.
Julia and Micaela live, love and work between Germany, Danemark, France, Canada and Chile.
